a letter to mama bird

Dear mama bird,
Sorry if you’re looking for baby bird now. It is safely under our roof. We found baby bird on the ground yesterday morning. When we looked up from the spot baby bird was laying, we saw your nest. Unfortunately it was too high up and all three of us ( mummy, daddy and me) counldn’t reach that height where your nest was. So there was nothing we could do but to let it lie there with it’s mouth open most of the time asking for food. We later tried looking for some earthworms from the mini garden behind our house. But I don’t know why there’s no trace of a single earthworm in our garden soil.

Sorry again because I think baby bird might smell slightly different now. As you know, baby bird is still too young to grow feathers and wings strong enough for flight. So we had to carry it and place it in a small nest mom made for it. You didn’t came and feed it eventhough it was calling your name so we fed it instead. As I mentioned earlier, we had no worms for it so we fed it with rice. But because the rice was too sticky (I think) so baby bird had a little difficulty swallowing it. So mummy suggested that we feed it with raw fish (because she was preparing fish for dinner that time). So we did. Don’t you worry. We cut it into really small pieces just right for baby bird’s mouth. It ate quite a lot and it even pooped. :)

We placed the nest on the tree earlier on. But as you can see, it rained pretty heavily last night so mom went out to bring it in. Again, don’t you worry., baby bird slept nicely in the nest. We tried our best to made it feel like home. :)
Here I’ve added a few pics of baby bird. Hope you’ll come back soon.

This is the nest mom made for baby bird.

Love,
Joanne
